Calculating Net Score
...But what about Burglars?
The GolfNetTourney League runs from the 1st of March to the 31st of August 2009, after which the winners of each of the four divisions will have the opportunity to participate in the expenses paid GolfNetTourney National Final, to be held at Clearwater Resort, Christchurch in October.
The Four Divisions
- Division 1 - Handicaps indexes' below 8
- Division 2 - Handicaps indexes' between 8 and 15.9
- Division 3 - Handicaps indexes' between 16 and 23.9
- Division 4 - Handicaps indexes' 24 and above
The division you play in is determined by your handicap index at the point you join the league.
Scoring
From the date you sign up to the GolfNetTourney League, we start to monitor your scores on the New Zealand Golf Network website and new scores posted will be added to your GolfNetTourney profile on a regular basis. Alternatively, you can add your own scores, which we will then validate against the New Zealand Golf Network website. Once 5 scores have been added to your GolfNetTourney profile, only those scores which improve your Total will be added and count towards your Total. Your Total is the sum of the 5 best Net Scores.
Net Score equals Gross Score minus Course Rating minus Handicap Index.
For example, if you score 75 on a course rated at 71.5 while playing off a handicap index of 6.1, your Net score for the round will be minus 2.6 (75 minus 71.5 minus 6.1).
NOTE: The best Net Score that will be counted for any one round is limited to minus 10.
What About Burglars!!!
To prevent any Burglar submitting erroneous scores, copies of all the winning scorecards for each of the division winners will be verified. If there is any irregularity or suspicion of foul play, GolfNetTourney reserves the right to disqualify any player.
